The main difference is in impact and wear resistance. Manganese steel hammers (such as Mn18) have high flexibility and impact resistance and are better for larger rocks or heterogeneous feed. Ni-hard cast iron is much harder and has much higher wear resistance, but is more brittle; therefore, it is ideal for final crushing of finer rocks and high abrasion environments.
Increasing the service life depends on several factors: 1. Choosing the right alloy (based on the hardness of your feed). 2. Accurately adjusting the gap between the hammer and the impactor (anvil). 3. Uniform and consistent feed loading into the machine. 4.
